You have been conscious your entire life. But you have never been taught what that means, or why it is your greatest asset.

A nine-month school combining neuroscience, philosophy of consciousness, and direct contemplative practice — offered for the first time in this form. The school takes as its point of departure the distinction that neuroscience has recently clarified and that philosophy has long circled: that consciousness and intelligence are fundamentally different things. Intelligence is doing. Consciousness is being. Machines can simulate the first. The second is what we are — and what we have barely begun to cultivate.

The curriculum moves through nine modules: what consciousness is and how it is experienced; reflective self-consciousness; consciousness across mystical traditions; the subtle layers of consciousness; the powers and capacities of consciousness; consciousness and self; expanded consciousness; consciousness and attention; and consciousness in human life. The school weaves together philosophical teaching, direct experiential practice, and insights from contemporary consciousness science.
